Student Design Projects
"A present for Granddad" second year student project of the Department of Industrial Design, Bezalel Academy of
Art & Design, was completed in 2000. GeronTech sponsored the six-month course and practical project, that resulted
in forty product designs. Besides financial support, GeronTech also organized an introductory seminar for the students,
in which advice was offered by local experts Danny Barak ( Milbat ) and Shani Rosenfeld ( Yad Sarah ) on assistive
device development and user requirements.
One of the design concepts, for a TV & video remote control unit, created by Bezalel student David Altit,
also won an important prize awarded by the Israeli Manufacturer's Association.
