Andante Smart Step Weight Bearing Feedback System
The patent pending Andante MD Smart Step System (3S) offers a new solution to the problems long
associated with weight bearing on injured lower limbs. The self-learning adaptive weight bearing
monitor is designed for use by patients in rehabilitation for lower extremity injuries as well
as hip and knee replacements, and will allow health care providers to reduce costs while increasing
patient compliance in the rehabilitation process essential for recovery.
Using artificial intelligence to teach the patient to load the optimal weight during the rehabilitation
period, the Andante portable 3S system also uses sensory/tactile stimulation to provide biofeedback and feed
forward. Using feed forward and biofeedback system, the 3S measures the pressure applied to the leg, decides
on the correct pace, and stimulates the patient to "load" the optimal weight.
